The decorated Village Hall looked great

An exciting collaboration between Silk Willoughby Parish Council and St. Denis’ Parochial Church Council along with Silk Willoughby Village Hall Committee saw the village come together in a day of celebrations.

Silk Willoughby Parish Council made a donation to cover some of the costs of the day which included the purchase of commemorative 50p coins which were distributed amongst the children in the village.

Members of St. Denis’ Parochial Church Council were on board and helped with baking and serving the lovely Afternoon Teas.

Funds raised on this day are to go towards the purchase of a Jubilee Oak to be planted, with the permission of Aswarby Estate, by the public footpath in the pasture field so that everybody can enjoy its growth.*

Bunting and flags were seen across the whole of Silk Willoughby

The whole village joined in with celebrations and some people who had not been able to attend the Afternoon Tea at Silk Willoughby Village Hall went on to enjoy a BBQ at The Horseshoes Pub on London Road.

It was great to see the whole community come together for such a wonderful weekend celebrating the Jubilee.
